Fantastic movie.

A clip of the scene towards the end got me hooked enough to watch the whole movie. It begins with the Captain so set on revenge he couldn't care less about a presidential order, no punishment was bad enough for the Indians. By the end he has come so perfectly full circle that he's the one waving the order and willing to kill his own to carry it out. Talk about Shakespearean! The ending is so perfect it is hard to describe. Magnificent movie!

I wanted to see this till I saw it was Christen Bale. He is a AH to crew on movie sets. He may be an good actor but he is NOT a decent man in real life.

An attack of Comanches in 1892? Very little likely, because since 1875, all comanche bands were locked up in the Fort Sill reservation. Also a comanche attack on a farm in 1892 is very unlikely and unhistorical.

Great movie, but why does Bale speak so soft? Also subtitles with the Indian dialect would have helped. Looking at Bale's moustache I was remiunded of Sam Elliot, who could have also played this part.

Did anyone notice the black soldier in this film and how, for that particular time in history, his station is......? Never mind!
